India’s mango exports are expected to rise by 40-50 percent next fiscal year, following the lifting of the EU import ban, says Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh.
“The lifting of the ban by the European Union will boost mango exports. The country’s overall exports are expected to increas by 40-50 percent next fiscal,” Singh told PTI.
The EU decided yesterday to lift a seven-month-long ban on the import of mangoes from India after the world’s biggest producer made significant improvements in plant health controls and certification system, clearing the way for them to return to the 28-member bloc by March.
